Views of the fore reef facies of the Capitan reef. The fore reef facies are composed of a large volume of boulder conglomerates or carbonate rudstone. These big blocks were derived from the Capitan marginal mound and have avalanched down. The fore reef slope forms large basinward-dipping clinoforms. |
