| Can you identify a rock / mineral / fossil / meteorite for me? |
We can try. The curator is not an professional appraiser and has a general Earth and Ocean sciences background rather than a specialized background. However, she has seen a lot of samples and can usually provide some information and contact information for institutions that can perform more formal identifications. |

| I would like to make a donation to the Museum. What do I do? |
Cash donations: You may make a cash donation of $10.00 or more via UBC's online donation tool. To select the Pacific Museum of the Earth, select "To a project in a Faculty, School or Campus Area", then "UBC Vancouver", then "Science", then "E897 Pacific Museum of the Earth Endowment Fund". Donations are tax deductible.
Specimen donations: Collection space in the Museum is extremely limited.
For this reason, we must be extremely careful and selective with regards to specimen donations. Agreement to view your specimen does not constitute a committment to accept the donation. Inquiries regarding large collection donations should be directed to the UBC Development Office. Inquiries regarding small or individual donations may be directed to the Museum curator with as much information about the specimen(s) as possible, preferably including pictures. |
