PC Computer Labs

The department of Earth & Ocean Sciences at UBC maintains two PC labs for the use of department members, particularily undergraduate and graduate students who need PC access for courses in Earth and Ocean Sciences and Geological Engineering. These labs are for for registered users only and require a small charge to cover printing.

EOS Learning Centre

The EOS learning centre is currently located in room 208 of the EOS main building. The facility will be redeveloped in the near future but is currently being used as on open space for students to study and work together. The space is currently also shared with one of our PC labs.

ECAC - Earth Course Assistance Centre

The ECAC help centre is located in room 135A of the EOS main building and is setup to assist students taking first year EOSC courses (such as 110,111,112,114,116,210 or 310).

Field Schools

Pacific Museum of the Earth

The museum is located in the lobby of the EOS main building and represents a major public outreach initiative. The musuem is the result of the amalgamation of two pre-existing Museums: The M.Y. Williams Geological Museum and the Pacific Mineral Museum. The new facility includes many excellent mineral, rock and fossil examples as well as samples of research in EOS. The musuem also hosts the Teacher's Resource Centre program which is being setup to assist K-12 teachers.

The musuem is open to the public and contains a gift shop.
