Research Interests

I am a biological oceanographer whose research interests have focussed on the structure of zooplankton communities and functional groups, and their environmental drivers across different spatial (coastal to ocean basin) and temporal scales (seasonal to inter-annual). My research aims to contribute to our understanding of pelagic food webs, and how they respond to climatic and oceanographic change. More recently I have also developed a keen interest and become directly involved in building capacity among communities by engaging them in research and monitoring programs (see http://riversinlet.eos.ubc.ca).
