EOS - ALUMNI NEWSLETTER - Spotlight on the Geological Engineering Program
Roger Beckie, Program Director - comment: EOS provides all of our administrative and support services, and devotes a ½ undergraduate co-ordinator position exclusively to the GEOE program, in the person of the most capable and incurably cheerful, Teresa Woodley.

EOS annual Alumni News comment by the Head: Teresa Woodley seems to know everything and do everything concerning undergraduate teaching (although I don't think she has yet been asked to deliver the lectures!). This year, on top of her other responsibilities, she also helped Roger Beckie with the External review of the geological engineering program. The GEOE program received approval and a very strong endorsement and congratulations and thanks are owed to Roger, Uli Mayer, and Teresa.

JAN 2011
RECOGNITION FOR EOS UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM COORDINATOR Teresa Woodley went above and beyond any expectations I had by organizing and facilitating my recent recruiting trip to UBC, from Rio Tinto Coal Australia. The purpose of my trip was to strengthen ties between my former program and the Mount Thorley Warkworth Mine, in NSW, Australia. It was excellent to see that the program is still doing well, and it is certainly an exciting time for the students. This trip would not have been possible, were it not for Teresa's continued dedication to UBC and the Geological Engineering Program.  It is obvious that her enthusiasm has not faltered since 2007 when I was the president of the Georox Engineering Club. Just as she was a major assest to the students back then, it is evident that she continues to go out of her way to be as pleasant and as helpful as humanly possible. Teresa's constant aid allows industry relationships like this to thrive so easily. Submitted by Ryan Thomson, Shovel Design Engineer, Technical Services Department.
