Research Interests

Mineralogy and Crystallography of: New minerals; uranium-bearing minerals, in particular phosphates and arsenates; granites and granite pegmatites; REE primary accessory minerals, in particular the monazite series; superstructures and modulated structures in minerals; silicophosphates; and borosilicates.

Hydrothermal synthesis of arsenates and phosphates containing heavy elements e.g. Pb, Ge and Ga.

Mineral nomenclature: Including the alunite and hydromagnesite groups.
