Profile
I completed my BSc (Hons) at the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand in 2003. I then moved to The Australian National University, in Canberra, Australia in February 2004, and finished my PhD in 2007. Since October 2007 I have been based at EOS. Whenever I'm not slaving in front of a computer screen I enjoy Ultimate Frisbee, hiking and other social sports.
Research Interests
My research addresses fluid flow and fluid-rock reaction processes in and around fault zones. I am particularly interested in how fluid flow pathways change through space and time, particularly during active deformation of the mid to upper crust. Potential applications of this include the localisation of ore deposits and petroleum reservoirs in folded and faulted rocks. My postdoctoral research focuses on the characteristics of fluid-rock reactions on different mineral phases during the formation of "Carlin-type" ore deposits.
