Education
M.Sc. (2010) - Geology - Laurentian University, Sudbury, ON (Mineral Exploration Research Centre) - thesis: "The Geology, Lithogeochemistry and Petrogenesis of Intrusions Associated with Gold Mineralization in the Porcupine Gold Camp, Timmins, Canada" (supervisor: Dr. Stephen J. Piercey)
B.Sc. Honors (2003) - Geology - University of Western Ontario, London, ON - thesis: "The Formation and Metallogenic Significance of an Iron-Rich Sedimentary Sequence Capping the Back River Volcanic Complex, East-Central Slave Province, Nunavut" (supervisor: Dr. Norman A. Duke)

Profile
With over 10 years of mineral exploration and research experience focused on gold mineralization, I have worked in many of Canada most renown gold mining districts. I have performed a variety of technical jobs including regional, property and showing scale mapping, as well as planning and managing small to large scale drill programs.
My return to academia is focused on studying IAMGOLD's Quimsacocha high sulfidation Au-Ag-Cu epithermal ore deposit in Ecuador. This Ph.D. research (supervised by: Dr. Thomas Bissig and Dr. Craig J.R. Hart) will include examining: 1) the Quimsacocha volcanic complex; 2) the hydrothermal, structural and tectonic evolution of the Quimsacocha area; 3) controls on high sulfidation alteration and mineralization; 4) and the geochemical signatures of quartz within high sulfidation epithermal systems. Implications of the research will include a better understanding of magmatic processes below a flattening subduction zone, evolution of acidic hydrothermal fields, high sulphidation ore deposit formation and the geochemisty of hydtothermal quartz.

Profile
With over 8 years of mineral exploration and research experience nearly entirely focused on gold mineralization. I have worked in many of Canada most renown gold mining districts, as well as many "up-and-coming" areas. I have primarily worked as a consultant to junior mining companies over the past few years, typically performing property and showing scale mapping. Past work has also included the planning and managing of small to medium scale drill programs.
My return to academia is focused on studying IAMGOLD's Quimsacocha Au-Ag-Cu deposit in Ecuador. My Ph.D. research will including examining the volcanic and regional controls on high sulfidation alteration and mineralization, the classification of advanced argillic and silica alteration in mineralization versus barren zones, and the hydrothermal evolution of the Quimsacocha area.
