Profile

My research under supervision of Prof William Hsieh, involves the use of machine learning/statistical methods (e.g. neural networks, kernel methods) to downscale the coarse-resolution NCEP/NCAR reanalysis and the Canadian global climate model outputs (CGCM) to finer, local scales. Applications include maximum and minimum temperatures, precipitation occurrences and amounts, wind speeds, extreme weather forecasts, and climate change scenarios.
