Profile

Ph.D. (UBC).

Research Interests

Groundwater plays a central role in a wide variety of geologic and geotechnical processes. Pore fluids influence the mechanical properties of earth materials and can be an important factor in the transfer of heat and mass in subsurface environments. Research topics currently being addressed include:

  1. Mathematical modeling of fluid flow and solute transport in fractured geologic media, with applications to problems of groundwater contamination.
  2. Hydrogeological processes within waste rock piles.
  3. Hydrogeologic aspects of continental and oceanic hydrothermal systems.
  4. Design of groundwater monitoring networks at hazardous waste management sites.
